What size fleet is this for?
Fleets running 50 trucks or more. The economics of predictive maintenance compound with scale, and the platform is built for the operational complexity that starts at that size. If you're smaller, we're not the right fit yet.
Does installation take trucks off the road?
No. Each unit connects at the truck's diagnostic port in minutes, with no rewiring and no shop visit. A fleet of fifty is typically live in a day, and trucks keep working while it happens.
Does it replace my ELD or telematics?
No. The Canary runs alongside your existing ELD and telematics. They handle compliance and tracking; the Canary handles prediction. Nothing you rely on today has to change.
What does it actually read?
The J1939 CAN bus, over a thousand signals per second per truck: coolant temp, oil pressure, fault codes, fuel rate, turbo boost, braking, idling, speed, and more, across 200-plus truck types. It also weighs route, weather, traffic, and driver behavior in every prediction.
How early are the warnings, and how accurate?
Warnings arrive 48 to 72 hours before any fault code triggers, at a projected 85 to 90 percent accuracy across critical powertrain, brake, and thermal systems, with a false-positive rate under 5 percent. Every confirmed fault feeds back into the models, so accuracy improves the longer your fleet runs.
What happens when a warning fires?
Dispatch gets an alert naming the truck, the component, the severity, and the recommended action, ranked against everything else on the board. When you confirm the fault, the platform can schedule the service stop on the truck's active route, order the parts, and line up a backup vehicle.
Who owns the data?
You do. The platform uses federated learning: model improvements travel between fleets, raw telemetry doesn't leave your domain. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, and anything aggregated beyond your fleet is anonymized and governed by your agreement.
Do drivers need training?
No. Drivers talk to the Canary hands-free, DOT-compliant, in any of 12-plus languages. If a driver can describe what feels off, they can use it on day one.
What about trucks on low-coverage routes?
Detection runs on the device itself, so the Canary keeps watching with no signal at all. Data is stored on board and forwarded when coverage returns, and safety-critical alerts never depend on the cloud.
